BonData provides full flexibility in managing entities within each integration, allowing you to select exactly which parts of your connected systems you want to utilize.

Understanding Entities

An entity represents any distinct set of data within your connected systems—such as a specific CSV or Google Sheet, or a specific Salesforce object. Managing entities ensures you bring only relevant data into BonData, optimizing efficiency and clarity.

View and Manage Your Entities

  1. Navigate to Entity Page:

  • Go to the Data > Integrations tab in the side menu.

  • Under the Data Sources section, you’ll find all your currently connected systems.

  • By selecting an integration, you will see all available entities in the left bar.

Add Additional Entities:

  • For integrations like Salesforce, BonData automatically includes standard entities by default.

  • To add custom or additional entities, click "New" at the top of the left bar.

  • Use the search function to find the specific entity you're looking for (usually custom objects).

  • Once located, click "Add".

  • For integrations such as databases, CSVs, or sheets, a primary key should be selected for each entity. BonData auto detects fields that can be used as primary keys (available for all rows + unique). The combination of multiple fields can be selected as primary keys (e.g. First Name, Last Name, Company).

Entity Activation Time:

  • After adding an entity, BonData initiates the metadata fetching process.

  • Metadata collection typically completes within approximately 15 minutes.

  • Once complete, the newly added entity becomes fully operational and ready for use within BonData.

Best Practices

  • Review Regularly: Periodically review your active entities to ensure they align with your current use cases.

  • Limit Entities for Efficiency: Select only the entities that add value to your workflows to maintain clarity and optimize performance.

  • Consult IT or Administrators: If you’re unsure about which entities to add or their permissions, reach out to your IT or system administrator.

By carefully managing entities, you can streamline your data integration process, keeping BonData efficient, targeted, and responsive to your business needs.
