What are Alerts on Agent Failures?

Alerts on Agent Failures automatically create a task whenever an agent encounters a failure. The task includes detailed information about the incident, such as:

  • The agent that failed

  • Relevant IDs or reference details

  • The number of successful and failed executions

  • Additional diagnostic information, if available

By using Alerts on Agent Failures, you can receive real-time notifications when an agent experiences an issue, enabling faster investigation and resolution.

Building an Alert for an Agent

1. Access the agent by navigating to the BonData Dashboard โ†’ Agents, then select the desired agent by clicking on it.

2. Hover over the node you want to receive alerts for, then click the shield icon.

In this example, the node will fail because it attempts to create a Salesforce contact using the Full Name field. Salesforce requires the First Name and Last Name fields separately and automatically generates the Full Name field. As a result, the record creation will be rejected, triggering the alert.

3. When the shield icon is enabled, a new Error Route appears on the node.

Click the + icon on the Error Route to configure your alert. In this example, select Slack Message as the alert action.

4. Within the new Slack Message node, configure the alert just as you would configure a regular Slack Message node.

Note: Two dynamic fields are available for use in the alert message: Node Summary and Task Results.

  • Node Summary provides a high-level overview of the failure.

  • Task Results includes detailed execution data, such as error messages and response information.

You can drag a mention from Node Summary or Task Results, just as you would with any other mention in a node.

5. After configuring the alert, save and activate the agent to apply your changes.

Alert on Agent Failure in Action

From the top right corner, hover over the Task List to view the tasks created for the agent.

In the example below, you can see the Slack messages generated by the alert we configured.

Clicking on a task item expands the details of the created task.

In the Slack channel, you can view the details of the Alert on Agent Failure.
